In addition to caring about ADHD, CHADD cares about your privacy. CHADD believes that you have the right to know what information is being collected about you when you visit our site, and what is done with that information. The terms of this policy will govern the use of any information collected while the policy is in place. This policy applies only to the online collection of information – different policies and practices may exist with regards to the offline collection of information by CHADD. Additionally, this privacy policy only applies to the CHADD site. Sites which are linked to or from this site may have different privacy policies. CHADD is not responsible for the privacy policies, or lack thereof, of sites accessed through links from our site. Please review the privacy notices on such sites for details. We reserve the right to change this privacy policy and encourage you to revisit this page. Should CHADD change its privacy policy, we will post such changes at this site.

Collection of Information

CHADD collects two (2) kinds of information – personally identifiable information that you choose to supply us, and non-personally identifiable information, such as your IP address.

Personally Identifiable Information

CHADD does not collect personally identifiable information without your knowledge. Personally identifiable information at our site is collected by prompt only. CHADD may collect personally identifiable information such as your email address, name, mailing address, telephone number, facsimile number, credit card information or other information to enable you to receive newsletters, complete membership registrations, participate in chat rooms or on bulletin boards, or to purchase goods. From time to time, we may request information from you via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary; you have a choice whether or not to disclose the requested information. Contact information may be used to satisfy website user requests, notify users regarding changes to the website or website policies, or provide further information about CHADD products and services. Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving use and satisfaction of the CHADD web site and may be aggregated in an anonymous manner. Any information you give to CHADD will be held with the utmost care, and will not be used in ways that you have not consented to by accepting the terms of this privacy policy.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

CHADD does collect anonymous browser information from visitors to the site. This information is not personally identifiable and is not linked to any individual person. To collect this information, when you visit our website, we may store information in the form of a “cookie” on your computer. Cookies allow us to tailor the site and help us to better respond to your interests and preferences. With most Internet Browsers, you can erase cookies from your computer hard drive, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Please refer to your Browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions.

CHADD may also collect information through IP addresses or environmental variables. An “IP address” is a number used by computers on the network to identify your computer so that data can be transmitted to you. “Environmental variables” include, among other things, the domain from which you access the Internet, the time of your visit to our website, the type of Browser and operating system or platform used, the Internet address of the websites you visit previously and subsequently to visiting the CHADD website, and the pages you visit while at our website. We collect this information to allow us to detect broad demographic trends, to provide information tailored to your interests and to enhance your experience on the CHADD site. This information may be aggregated in an anonymous manner.

Resale or disclosure of information to third parties

CHADD may use the information you provide to fulfill your requests for membership, newsletters, our products, programs, and services, to respond to your inquiries about our offerings, and to offer you other products, programs or services that we believe may be of interest to you. We sometimes use this information to communicate with you, such as to fulfill a request by you for an online newsletter, to contact you about your membership with us or to notify you when we make changes to our membership agreements, or to fulfill purchase orders. The information we collect in connection with our online forums and communities is used to provide an interactive experience. We use this information to facilitate participation in these online forums and communities, and from time to time, to offer you CHADD products, programs, or services.

CHADD will not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease personal information collected at this site. CHADD may share personally and non-personally identifiable information with third parties that help manage our web site and databases, and with our partners, affiliates or other third parties. Specifically, but not inclusively, CHADD will disclose personal information (i) as may be permitted or required by law or court order, (ii) as may be necessary to protect the rights or property of CHADD, or (iii) to select third party agents with whom CHADD has contracted to carry out internal operations of the site, for example to register you for an event or fulfill a purchase or delivery request made by you.
